KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The secretariat meeting of Nepal Communist Party has entrusted co-chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal to conduct the party’s meetings and make necessary decisions in the absence of another chairman KP Sharma Oli.
The meeting held on Thursday morning also decided to entrust Dahal to chair the party meetings during Oli’s visit to Singapore.
Prime Minister Oli is flying to Singapore this afternoon for his routine health check-up. According to the party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, chairperson Dahal will call secretariat meeting to take the necessary decision on party unification and other various issues as PM Oli will remain in Singapore for about ten days.
Despite the fact being Oli and Dahal the co-chairpersons of the party, only Oli can announce the meetings and chair them. However, after today’s decision, Dahal can call and chair the meetings and take the necessary decisions.
