KATHMANDU, Dec 26: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has invited CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli as a guest at the party's general convention. Dahal telephoned Oli on Sunday morning and invited him as a guest at the inaugural session of the national convention.

However, Oli replied that he was in Jhapa and would send a representative. Oli had replied that he would send party General Secretary Shankar Pokharel to participate in the program.

Although the Maoist Center had earlier said they would not invite anyone else to the inaugural session, they have recently invited the country's major political parties to address the inaugural session. The inaugural session will begin at 3 PM with the participation of Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Janata Samajbadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav.
