KATHMANDU, Jan 4: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal has relieved Prithivi Subba Gurung and Shankar Pokharel from their respective posts of the provincial in-charge.
A Standing Committee meeting of the faction held in Paris Danda on Monday made a decision to relieve Pokharel from the post of party’s Lumbini Provincial In-Charge and Gurung from the post of Gandaki Provincial In-Charge.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of leader Nepal also took a decision to appoint Devendra Paudel as the In-Charge of Gandaki Province and Yubaraj Gyawali as the In-Charge of Lumbini Province.
The ruling NCP has seen a vertical split after Prime Minister K P Oli decided to dissolve the lower house of the federal parliament on December 20. Both Oli-led faction and Dahal-Nepal-led factions have been removing rival party leaders in various party committees and appointing leaders close them since their split.
