KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction of Nepal Communist Party is staging a mass demonstration in the capital city on Friday demanding reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR).

The faction has claimed to bring in more than 100,000 cadres in the demonstration being in Bhrikuti Mandap area today.

Cadres of Dahal-Nepal faction of NCP have already started assembling in major chowks in Kathmandu.

Vehicular movement in the inner part of Kathmandu has already been severely affected.

The country has been witnessing a series of protests, demonstrations and gatherings despite serious health risk posed by the COVID-19 pandemic following the dissolution of HoR by the government on December 20, 2020.

Dahal-Nepal faction of NCP has been demanding reinstatement of the parliament while Prime Minister KP Oli led-faction has been backing the house dissolution and has even started preparing for midterm elections announced for April 30 and May 10.
