KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal is leaving for New Delhi for a day-long visit on Friday morning.

According to his press coordinator Bishnu Sapkota, former Prime Minister Dahal is flying at 9:30 am to attend “India Idea Conclave” being organized by India Foundation to commemorate the late Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Dahal will return to Kathmandu on Friday evening.

Dahal will be accompanied by his personal secretary Jokh Bahadur Mahara. This visit comes in less than two months after he visited New Delhi. During his last visit, Dahal had spent three days in New Delhi and met with top Indian politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Analysts in Kathmandu described the visit of Dahal at the invitation of the thinktank that is considered close to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as ‘meaningful’.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely will also attend the conclave.
