CYC Attariya wins DPL-3; registers three wkts victory over Mahendranagar United

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: CYC Attariya has won the third edition of Dhangadi Premier League. In the final match held at Fapla International Cricket Ground on Saturday, Attariya defeated Mahendranagar United by three wickets.

Winning the toss, Mahendranagar United decided to bat first in the first innings of the match and scored 123 runs with the loss of seven wickets in allotted 20 overs game.

Mahendranagar’s fall of wickets was: 1-11 (Mohammad Naveed, 1.2 ov), 2-14 (S Anand, 1.6 ov), 3-41 (Aarif Sheikh, 7.1 ov), 4-42 (S Vesawkar, 7.2 ov), 5-93 (Kushal Malla, 14.1 ov), 6-97 (D Nath, 15.1 ov), 7-107 (AS Routela, 17.6 ov), 8-114 (A Bohara, 18.3 ov), 9-119 (Shahab Alam, 18.5 ov), 10-123 (RK Paudel, 19.6 ov).

Dipendra Sing Airee and Dipendra Rawat took two wickets each whereas Sunny Patel took a single wicket for Attariya.

Receiving the target of 123 runs, CYC Attariya hit 127 with one run remaining. Sunny Patel scored highest 47 run (not out) in 26 goals with three fours and three sixes.

Attariya’s fall of wickets was:  1-31 (G Kunwar, 4.6 ov), 2-39 (S Jhora, 6.3 ov), 3-43 (JA Kolsawala, 8.1 ov), 4-43 (Rit Gautam, 8.3 ov), 5-54 (B Karki, 9.6 ov), 6-92 (DS Airee, 16.4 ov), 7-111 (KS Airee, 18.2 ov)

Mohammad Naveed and Sagar Dhakal took two wickets whereas Abhinash Bohara and Shahab Alam took a single wicket each for the team.

Sunny Patel was declared as the player of the match and man of the series.

The winning team Attariya has bagged a trophy and Rs three million cash prize and first runner up team Mahendranagar has received a trophy and Rs 1.2 million.
