KATHMANDU, April 5: Customers will now have to get permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs while selling and buying acid.
The Ministry of Home Affairs in a press statement on Sunday said the industries, entrepreneurs, pharmaceutical companies and any other customers should get prior permission from the ministry to buy and sell any types of acid.
The Ministry took the decision to this effect in order to minimize acid attacks and illegal use of the substance.
Those required to buy acids will now have to file an application at the Ministry highlighting the objective and required quantity.
Prior to this decision, acid was being openly traded in Nepali market.
