RASUWA, Aug 8: Amid fears of further transmission of COVID-19, the District Administration Office (DAO), Nuwakot, has decided to enforce curfew in the district beginning Saturday midnight.
According to Chief District Officer Jhaknath Dhakal, a meeting of the District COVID-19 Management Committee decided to clamp curfew in the district. The curfew orders will be effective for the next 10 days.
Curfew lifted in Mahendranagar
The DAO took the decision after witnessing COVID-19 transmission at the community level in recent days.
The curfew orders will be effective in Bidur Municipality, Likhu Rural Municipality, Suryaghadi Rural Municipality, wards 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of Balkotgadhi Municipality, wards 1, 2 and 3 of Panchakanya Rural Municipality, wards 6, 7 and 8 of Shivapuri Rural Municipality and wards 1, 2, 4 and 6 of Kakani Rural Municipality in the district.
A total of 53 individuals have contracted the virus in the district as of Saturday afternoon. Of them, 36 have recovered successfully and returned home.
