KATHMANDU, Aug 18: A woman who was critically injured in a jeep accident in Bhimphedi, Makwanpur, on Tuesday morning has died during treatment.
Laxmi Badu, 49, passed away at Shree Birendra Hospital in Chhauni, Kathmandu. Her body remains at the hospital, according to police.
One dead, five injured in Baitadi jeep accident
The accident occurred around 7:00 AM when a Birgunj-bound jeep (Pra 3-01-002 Jha 5183) coming from Kathmandu lost control and plunged approximately 50 to 60 meters into a roadside ravine.
A Nepal Army helicopter airlifted four of the injured—including Gokarna Dangi, a judge at the Janakpur High Court's Birgunj bench—to Shree Birendra Hospital for urgent care.
A seven-member team, including traffic officers from the Area Police Office in Bhimphedi, responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported.
Those injured in the crash include Judge Dangi; Registrar Taradatta Badu, 51, of Dasharathchand Municipality-7, Baitadi; Ritendra Badu, 25; Rita Badu, 31; and the driver, Chhunilal Chaudhary, 32, of Rapti Municipality-8, Dang. Laxmi Badu, who sustained critical injuries, later succumbed to her wounds.
