CPN-UML unveils election manifesto; includes highly ambitious projects

KATHMANDU, May 1: The main opposition CPN-UML has unveiled the election manifesto for the upcoming local level.

KATHMANDU, May 1: The main opposition CPN-UML has unveiled the election manifesto for the upcoming local level.


Organizing a program at the party central office at Dhumbarahi on Monday, the party has revealed various highly ambitious plans and projects. Party chairperson KP Sharma Oli made the manifesto published on the occasion.


The party has announced that the per capita income of the Nepali will be $ 5,000 within 10 years and $ 25,000 in 25 years. With the infrastructural development and the industrialization, increased in the number of the employment and the management of the skilled manpower, the party claimed that the country will be the developing country in five years. The party has targeted to stand the country in the category of the developed country within 25 years of time.

Likewise, the party has announced the party will focus on the development of the hydro power projects and the energy, targeting to generate 15,000 MW electricity within 10 years.


Similarly, in the manifesto, the party has focused on the development of the highways and on the betterment of the existing transport system of the country citing that the socio-economic transformation of the country is possible only with the better infrastructure of the transportation in the country. The party has announced the completion of Fast Track within five years without foreign aid. 


The manifesto also mentioned that the party has concluded to develop water routes to operate Nepali flag carrier sea vessels in every ocean.
