KATHMANDU, APRIL 11: The meeting of Standing Committee of CPN-UML held on Monday decided to not extend support to the new constitution amendment bill bound to be registered at the legislature parliament after the cabinet meeting held on Monday endorsed it.
CPN-UML leaders said they were not going to support the new amendment bill since the government prepared it without consulting them.
Any proposal contravening the spirit of the constitution as well as affecting the local polls and national interest is not acceptable, said Yogesh Bhattarai, Chief of Publicity and Publication Department.
The meeting was chaired by the acting Chairman of CPN-UML Bamdev Gautam.
