KATHMANDU, Mar 20: The CPN-UML is holding a parliamentary party (PP) meeting and the central committee (CC) meeting on Saturday.
Lawmakers and leaders close to Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction have announced to boycott both the meetings.
The UML parliamentary party meeting is being held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Baluwatar at 10:30 am, according to UML Office Secretary Iswari Rijal.
Likewise, the 12th central committee meeting of the party will be held after the conclusion of the PP meeting.
Both the meetings are likely to discuss the contemporary political situation as well as the differences seen within the party.
The PP meeting today is expected to amend the UML’s Parliamentary Party statute. Similarly, the task force formed to amend the statute will present its report today. Earlier on March 18, the PP meeting had formed a three-member statute amendment task force led by Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai.
Likewise, today's central committee will form the General Convention Organizing Committee, according to Secretary Rijal.
The UML's 10th general convention has been scheduled for November this year.
