KATHMANDU, The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) said  it would hold talks with the Nepali Congress (NC) on the impeachment proposal registered against Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki in the Parliament.

A meeting of the CPN (MC) held at its party headquarters in Peris Danda on Thursday decided to this effect, leader Mani Thapa told Republica Online.

The meeting concluded that it would be reasonable to relieve Karki of his post through impeachment proposal against him and move ahead after discussion with the NC. “All the leaders were in favor of the impeachment proposal,” Thapa said, adding, “the party will move ahead with the agreement among all the political parties.”

Prime Minister and Chairmand of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal had discussed this issue with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba this morning.

The NC has not come up with its official decision on the impeachment proposal.  It said it would discuss this issue in the central committee meeting to be held today.
