KATHMANDU, Jan 13: The Standing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) is underway to discuss the draft statue of the party.
The draft statue presented by the Statute Drafting Committee will be discussed in the meeting being held at the party headquarters Paris Danda at 11:00AM today, Vice President and Spokesperson of the party Agni Prasad Sapkota said.
The Maoist Center is hosting a legislation conference in mid-February. Hence, the draft statute is being discussed before the conference. The party had earlier formed a seven-member committee under the leadership of Vice Chairperson Pampha Bhusal to draft the statute.

The committee submitted the draft statute to the party chair and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday.
After reaching the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, a team including the vice chairman and coordinator of the committee, Pampha Bhusal, submitted the draft. The Maoist Center had formed a seven-member statute drafting committee under the coordination of Vice President Bhusal on December 21. The committee consisted of General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung, Deputy General Secretary Giri Rajmani Pokharel, Barshaman Pun and Janardhan Sharma and secretaries Ganesh Sah and Surendra Karki.
Meanwhile, the meeting today will also review the four-month-long 'Special transformation campaign with the people' conducted by the party. It is said that the province in-charges will brief about the campaign in the meeting.
The special transformation campaign was held across the country from September 2, 2023 to January 1, 2024.
