KATHMANDU, March 9: Communist Party of Nepal leader Bhim Rawal has expressed concern over the pact signed between the government and 'Alliance for independent Madhes' on Friday.

Alliance Coordinator Dr Chandrakant Raut had been giving secessionist remarks but the pact did not reflect withdrawal of expressions he made to separate the country, Rawal said at a face-to-face organised by the Reporters' Club here on Saturday.

"First, it is wrong to name the organisation as Independent Madhes. Second CK Raut has frequently raised the issue of disintegrating the country challenging the constitutional spirit. However, the pact did not feature any expression withdrawing such anti-national remarks".

Expressing concern over the insertion of the phrases such as independent Madhes and referendum in the pact, he demanded government response in this regard.

He also lambasted the leadership for making the deal in a non-transparent manner without any consultation within the CPN and cautioned the pact could hurt the country at any moment.

Leader Rawal also called for amendment to the pact after having discussion within the party.
"It is necessary to hold dialogue and bring into mainstream various oragnisations to take ahead the country to the path of peace and prosperity.

But, there should be definite objectives while inking such pacts which should in no way be hurting to the country's independence", he asserted. RSS
