POKHARA, Jan 27: Receiving a shot of India’s ‘Covishield’ vaccine, Dr Budhi Bahadur Thapa, Vice-chancellor at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, kicked off COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Gandaki Province today.
The government has officially launched COVID-19 vaccination campaign across the country on Wednesday.
Gandaki Province set to become 'Bright Gandaki Province'
The government on January 15 had approved the use of India’s Covishield vaccines against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Following the administration of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to Dr Thapa in the province, the vaccination campaign has formally kicked off in all 11 districts of the Gandaki Province, according to Dr Bindo Bindu Sharma, director of the Province Health Directorate.
In the first phase, Gandaki Province will be launching COVID-19 vaccination campaign from Jan 27 to Jan 31. The province aims to inoculate 17,396 frontline workers during this period.
