KATHMANDU, August 10: A 64-year-old man who has been suspected of contracting novel coronavirus died at Nepal Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur on Monday. The man who was a patient of diabetes and pneumonia was admitted to the hospital on July 30 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
“The patient had symptoms of the virus. We have collected the swab sample of the patient and sent it for testing,” an official at the hospital said.
According to the hospital, the man was a resident of Tyanglaphat, Kirtipur. He died at the hospital at 6 am on Monday.
Before this, two COVID-19 patients died at the Lalitpur-based Patan Hospital on August 7.
A total of 138 people have tested positive for the virus in the district so far.
According to the records kept by the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal has reported a total of 22,972 cases with 75 deaths as of Sunday evening.
