Counting of votes for the post of NC General Secretary begins

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The counting of votes for the post of General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC) has started.


According to the Central Election Committee, the counting of votes started at around 10:30 this morning.

Vote counting is taking place at three places. The committee shared that the results will be made public in about four hours. Six candidates are vying for the post. Two of them will be elected. Leaders Gagan Thapa, Bishwaprakash Sharma, Dr Minendra Rijal, Dr Prakash Saran Mahat, Pradip Poudel and Rajaram Karki are competing for the post.


Earlier, it was decided that the counting of votes would be held at the NC Central Office, Sanepa. A total of 4,679 votes were cast in the polls held at Bhrikuti Mandap on Monday.
