Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer recently made headlines after a fire broke out on the sets of the film. Although no casualties were reported, a large portion of the film set was disrupted due to the fire. According to the latest reports, the producers of the film have suffered a loss of about Rs 2 to 2.5 crore. However, thanks to the insurance cover the makers had procured even before the film went on floors, the said amount has been covered.

The report further added that the surveyor from the insurance department visited the set recently. He will file his report and only then will the claim process begin.
Earlier, after the reports of fire started doing the rounds in the media, producer Jaccky Bhagnani had taken up to Twitter to thank the firefighters and the police for taking immediate action.
He wrote, "We would like to thank the Firefighters, Mumbai Police and the BMC officials for their immediate assistance, after a concerning situation on the sets of #Coolieno1 The fire was put out immediately with no casualties. I want to thank everyone for their concern and wishes", he wrote.
‘Coolie No. 1’ is the official remake of the 1995 film originally starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead role. The remake will star Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan and the film will be directed by David Dhawan.
The film is slated to hit the theatres on May 1, 2020.
