Contribution of all must for protection and promotion of human rights

KATHMANDU, May 20: Experts have said that the contribution of all sectors was necessary for the protection and promotion of human rights.

At an interaction, 'Trade and Human Rights', organized here today on the occasion of Jaycees Week-2076, participants said that the trade sector could have a significant contribution to human rights.

Member of National Human Rights Commission, Mohna Ansari, said that the area of human rights has become broader in Nepal and added that the trade sector should also address the issue of human rights besides profit.

Former ambassador Shambhuram Simkhada underscored the promotion of humanitarian values in all sectors as the issue of human rights was becoming topical throughout the world. Joint secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Nirmala Adhikari, said every individual, institution, and organization should respect the national and international laws on human rights.

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) vice-president Kishor Pradhan said the entrepreneurs were serious regarding respect of human rights. United Nations Development Program (UNDP)'s Tek Tamata gave information on the occasion regarding the efforts made across the world to take forward entrepreneurship and human rights in a harmonized manner.

Kathmandu Jaycees president Bhuwan Kumar Shrestha observed that the participants have been benefited from the various programs and the debates organized on the occasion of the conclusion of the Jaycees Week. The Kathmandu Jaycees is celebrating its Golden Jubilee by organizing a variety of programs this year.
