'Consumers awareness needed to secure rights'

KATHMANDU, March 15: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the consumers need to beware to secure their rights.

In a message today on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day, Oli said the service delivery institutions, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders need to work to protect and respect the rights of the consumers. 

There is also a need for the regulatory bodies in the sector to enhance and expand their capacity to become more active for consumer rights protection. The government is also making its best possible efforts to formulate and amend laws to strengthen consumer rights in accordance with the guidelines on consumers' rights, endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly, the Prime Minister has said in the message.
