DADELDHURA, Jan 31: Most of the public works of development in Dadeldhura are undertaken by consumers themselves.
The development works related to drinking water, road infrastructure and irrigation with budget below Rs 6 million are mostly carried out by consumers and commoners.
Around 98 per cent of such development works are done by the consumer committee and common citizens, Local Development Officer (LDO), Gyanendra Parajuli, shared at a programme.
The bigger development projects which are technically complicated with costs tipping over Rs 6 million are done through announcement of tender.
Parajuli said the local residents are becoming economically stronger after being employed by the consumer committee whereas the works are quickly accomplished and in a transparent manner.
The locals are overjoyed that they are able to carry out the works of development that are directly linked to their lives, and for also feeling a sense of ownership.
The majority of the ongoing development works in different locations within the districts are being carried out with speed, District Technical Office, Dadeldhura assistant sub engineer, Tek Bahadur Bhandari said. RSS
