KATHMANDU, Aug. 7: The Consulate General of Nepal in San Francisco, United States, has announced that it will discontinue its services from September 1, 2026.
The consulate said consular services will remain available only until August 31, as it is in the process of permanent closure. It has urged all service recipients to obtain the required services before September 1, stating that the San Francisco-based mission will be permanently closed after August 31.

Issuing a notice on Friday regarding the closure of passport and consular services, the Consulate General said that passport, visa and other consular services will no longer be available from September 1 onward.
The Consulate General has also requested applicants who applied for passports either at its office or through its mobile passport service centers before July 6 this year to collect their new passports from the consulate as soon as possible.
