A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday decided to upgrade the college as the Shahid Dasharath Chand National Health Science University, said Dahal during a field inspection of the college at Geta of Godavari Municipality-5 in Kailali district.

“The Cabinet meeting in principle decided to develop the college as the Shahid Dasharath Chand National Health Science University. Now, there will be efforts to run the college practically,” he said.

Recalling that he during his first tenure as the prime minister pledged to work for Sudurpaschim Province, and inspected many projects, PM Dahal said, “This time too, I started inspecting province-level projects from Sudurpaschim. Construction of the remaining buildings and structures including road and drinking water pipeline will be complete in the next five months, said Pujara.

The cost of the project, which started 13 years ago, is estimated to be around Rs 5.45 billion. The medical college will have 600 beds. It aims to provide quality and cost-effective health services.
