KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has resumed the construction of Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15 in collaboration with the provincial and central government.
According to Santosh Acharya, Senior Engineer, Division of the Urban Infrastructure Development of the metropolitan city, stone soling is ongoing under the parapet.
The local materials used for construction are currently being tested in the laboratory of the metropolitan city, while the rod has been sent to Kathmandu for laboratory testing. Archarya said, "Technicians and employees of the construction company have begun working on the site."

Meanwhile, Renu Dahal, mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, urged the head of the company and the technician to complete the work within the specified time, and expressed commitment to provide all possible support from the metropolis.
Similarly, Dahal also instructed the employees to solve any issues immediately. Dahal said that the metropolitan city will establish an office at the construction site to facilitate the construction.
According to Engineer Jagannath Aryal, Deputy Director of the Metropolitan City, the ground will be prepared along with a parapet that can accommodate 10,000 people.
The total cost of the stadium construction is Rs 755.5 million. An agreement has been reached to accomplish the construction by January 6, 2027.
In the current fiscal year, the federal government has allocated a budget of 250 million while the Bharatpur Metropolitan City has allocated 40 million. An agreement has been reached that the Bagmati Province government will bear 70 percent of the total construction cost.
The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation, which initially started the construction of the stadium, has completed a parapet that can accommodate 5,000 people. For this, 286 pillars have been erected.
