GAIGHAT (Udayapur), June 19: Construction of the bridge over the Baruwa river in Gaighat of Udayapur has been completed.
The bridge falls on the strategic alternative highway linking Chatara of Sunsari to the capital Kathmandu via Gaighat, Katari, Sindhuli and Hetauda.
The bridge was completed at the total cost of around Rs. 70 million including assistance from the Asian Development Bank and the government, according Kedar Dahal, Managing Director of the Harihari Apex Company that constructed the bridge
Though the bridge is yet to be formally inaugurated vehicles have already started plying over it. The bridge has facilitated travelers heading to Kathmandu from Sunsari, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha and other districts in the Tarai.
