Constitutional Council meeting ends inconclusively

KATHMANDU, April 8: A meeting of the Constitutional Council held on Friday to discuss the selection of next chief justice ended inconclusively. The meeting was held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar.

The meeting ended inconclusively after newly elected Parliamentary Party leader of the Nepali Congress remained absent due to election of work execution committee of the NC Parliamentary Party.


The next meeting has been scheduled for April 10, according to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Agni Kharel.

Incumbent Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha will retire on April 13 due to age bar.

Meanwhile, a cabinet meeting is taking place at Baluwatar. RSS
