Constitution within mid-August: Bhattarai

BHAKTAPUR, July 25: UCPN (Maoist) leader and President of the Constituent Assembly's Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee Baburam Bhattarai has said the country would get the new constitution by mid-August.

Taking part in an interaction program on 'workers' rights in new constitution' organized by the party-aligned workers' association in the capital city Saturday, he said time had come to incorporate people's voices in the new constitution.

The CA has a compulsion ahead to promulgate the new constitution on the basis of political consensus by brushing aside the disputed issues.

The influential leader of the UCPN (Maoist) went on saying that some people with bad intentions have taken a policy of usurping the party.

According to him, efforts to shakeup the party with a new course were afoot.

Party leaders Devendra Poudel, Top Bahadur Raymajhi and Prabhu Sah also stressed the need of revamping the party. RSS
