Conflict victim teachers call for help

KATHMANDU, May 25: Conflict-affected teachers have submitted a memorandum to members of parliament calling for restoration of their jobs. Many teachers were displaced during the 10-year-long conflict, forced to quit their jobs.

KATHMANDU, May 25: Conflict-affected teachers have submitted a memorandum to members of parliament calling for restoration of their jobs. Many teachers were displaced during the 10-year-long conflict, forced to quit their jobs.

Handing over a memorandum to former Peace Minister and sitting Member of Parliament Satya Pahadi, the teachers demanded restoration of their jobs. Stating that the Comprehensive Peace Agreement states that they would be restored, the teachers stressed on enforcement of the provision agreed then. A nine-point memorandum was submitted, according to chair of the conflict victim teachers central struggle committee Sarpa Raj Singh.


MP Pahadi on the occasion said that the memorandum has been registered for discussion as a resolution of public importance at the House of Representatives.
