KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The second death anniversary of leftist-democratic leader Sahana Pradhan was observed today.
The Sahana Pradhan Memorial Foundation organised an assembly on the second memorial day of Pradhan at CPN (UML)'s central party office Dhumbarahi. On the occasion, party leaders and Pradhan's colleagues shed light on her contribution to the Nepali politics mainly to the Communist movement.
Party Chair KP Sharma Oli said Pradhan had spent a six-decade long active political career and had a leading role in the country's Communist movement. The former Prime Minister said identity of Pradhan should not be confined to just as a leader of women movement rather she had an incomparable contribution to making the democratic movements successful.
UML senior leader Jhalanath Khanal said leader Pradhan was a nickname of the struggle who had immense contribution to the country's politics.
Another party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice Chair Bamdev Gautam and Foundation Chair Ram Kumari Jhankri remembered leader Pradhan as an epitome of valiance, struggle, dedication and success. RSS
