BUTWAL, July 10: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the alliance is a national necessity. Stating that the five-party alliance has saved the country from various crises, he said that it will continue till the next election as per the needs of the country.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the Socialist Press Organization Nepal Rupandehi in Butwal on Saturday, Nepal said that the alliance would continue till the next election as it worked to protect the nation while protecting the democratic republic and the constitution. Leader Nepal said that the alliance will be maintained in the federal and provincial elections.

He said that the Unified Socialist had won the local elections on its own. He said that the party secured mayor in one metropolis and one sub-metropolis and key positions at various local levels with overwhelming votes at many levels. Leader Nepal also claimed that there would be more success in the upcoming election.

He said that the party will move ahead by rectifying the weaknesses in the local elections such as lack of voter education, door-to-door visits and delay in consensus at the ward level. Pointing to CPN-UML Chairman Oli, he claimed that the upcoming election would shatter the pride of those who say they have no status.

Replying to a reporter's question on the Left Alliance for the federal election and the party's unification with the CPN-UML, Nepal said that there was no scope for cooperation and unity as there was no dialogue with the CPN-UML. Stating that they are not focused on uniting for any post or being election-oriented, he reiterated that this alliance will be continued as per the national need.
