KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Immediate past chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has once again claimed that former King Gyanendra Shah had interfered in the party's general convention.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Thapa said that Nirmal Niwas (former King’s residence) had interfered in the general convention of RPP. Claiming that it was not his outrage after the defeat in the election at the party’s recently held general convention, Thapa said in a statement, “I humbly urge everyone not to take this statement as an outrage after the defeat in the election. As a player, defeat or victory means nothing to me. The culture of gladly accepting defeat and being ready for another competition is in my blood.”

Former Chairman Thapa has also condemned the alleged interference made by former King Gyanendra Shah to defeat him in the election. "I strongly condemn the naked intervention of Nirmal Niwas and former King Gyanendra Shah in the election of the central leadership. Again, this is not the first incident,” he further said.

Thapa has also vowed not to let “the plan of Nirmal Niwas to make RPP a group of those who sing in praise of former King Gyanedra Shah” be successful.
