KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana has assigned cases to 10 benches at the Supreme Court for Tuesday.
A single bench and nine joint benches are scheduled for hearing all kinds of cases, including habeas corpus ones. However, he has not assigned any cases for himself. Although the benches were supposed to be fixed using an automation system, CJ Rana has assigned the cases for today.
The Supreme Court Rules have been published in the Gazette on Monday. The lottery system will be implemented only after a full court meeting.
Although the justices at the SC have been demanding the resignation of CJ Rana, they have agreed to hear the cases if the benches are fixed using the lottery system.
