CJ Giri retires

KATHMANDU, May 3: Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri retired on Sunday after he turned 65, the age limit for the Chief Justice to remain in service. With Giri´s retirement, senior most Justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhee, who is going to succeed Giri after the parliament confirms his nomination, has become acting Chief Justice. Heman Rawal, Supreme Court spokesperson, said that Supreme Court justices and staff bade farewell to Giri amidst a program at the apex court on Sunday.
