KATHMANDU, June 5: KP Sharma Oli, the chairman of the main opposition party CPN (UML), has said the citizenship bill should be tabled at the Parliament again.
Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Chair Oli said that the citizenship bill passed by the Parliament and authenticated by the President at the request of the cabinet was not in line with the rule and the bill should be tabled before the Parliament again.
He commented that the recent India visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal was not successful. The UML chair blamed Prime Minister Dahal of poor performance in the recent India visit as no representation of foreign ministry was seen in the bilateral talks held with India.
The former Prime Minister Oli suggested that Nepal should not forget Non-Aligned Foreign Policy. It is impossible to think such a thing as heard in the market that attempts were made to resolve border problems on the Bangladesh model by giving up territory, he mentioned.
Chair Oli shared that a high-level delegation put forth all difficulties the country has been facing including land encroachment with its neighbor during the visit.
