The appeal referred to incidents during the Gen-Z demonstrations on September 8 and 9, which involved arson, vandalism, robbery, and theft. Some of those arrested were found misusing the national flag, including draping it over themselves, which the leaders said constituted disrespect. The signatories demanded strict action against anyone found misusing the flag.

The appeal emphasized that the national flag is a symbol of unity and should not be used to advance personal ideas or agendas. It stated, “Using the national flag to promote personal interests or to emotionally manipulate the public under the guise of patriotism is unethical. Such acts dishonor and disrespect the flag and must be prohibited.”
