JANAKPUR, July 18: A team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided Sahidnagar Municipality Office, Dhanusha. The CIAA team from Bardibas is checking the municipality files.

After receiving a complaint that the municipality had committed widespread irregularities in the subsidy received from the provincial government, the CIAA team went to the office to start an investigation in this regard. A conditional grant of Rs 21 million was received from the province government for four different schemes.

The schemes were - Construction of a paved road in Sahidnagar Municipality Ward 3 Yadukuha, Ward 7 Road slopes from Korari Pond of Nemuwatol to Sithu Mandal house, At the same place, road upgrading from Jalil Mia's house to Vishwakarma Chowk and Ramesh Mandal's house to Dhobiahi road, a team of CIAA reached Sahidnagar on the basis of a complaint that the plans were not worked on.

It is said that after the complaint of corruption in the budget given by the government of Madhesh Province for the construction of classrooms of SNR Janata Mavi Dhaboli along with those three plans, the CIAA team conducted an on-site inspection and took pictures of the files related to the plan.

According to Gopal Adhikari, head of CIAA , Bardibas, he took pictures of necessary documents related to the complaint and proceeded with the investigation process accordingly. 

In Ward 3, the newly elected Ward President Manoj Das made his brother the Chairman of the Consumer Committee in the scheme of Rs 5 million received from the province government.
