According to the CIAA, Karki engaged in corruption activities by illegally registering the government land in the name of an individual. Karki joined government service in mid-July 2001. As of April 13, 2023, he has accumulated assets amounting to Rs 37.7 million and has invested Rs 69.8 million in various sectors, according to the CIAA findings.

The source of Karki's assets, totaling Rs 32.1 million, remains undisclosed. The CIAA has demanded the confiscation of unlawfully acquired properties equivalent to the said amount.

Furthermore, the CIAA claims that Karki's daughter, Grishma Karki, holds land under her name that is suspected to have been obtained through similar irregular means. The CIAA has included Karki's wife, Dewaka Adhikari, as a defendant in the case.
