Chitwan crushes Nuwakot

CHITWAN, May 10: A hat-trick from Bobo helped Chitwan XI to a cruising 4-0 win over Nuwakot XI in the ongoing First Bharatpur Gold Cup Football Tournament in Narayanghat on Thursday. 

Chitwan XI showed brilliant attacking display to register a dominating win over Nuwakot scoring two goals in each half in a match played at Campachaur. 

Bobo opened the scoring for Chitwan in the sixth minute, while he doubled the advantage for the winning team with a goal in the 21st minute.

Chitwan pressed Nuwakot hard and did not let the ball travel to its area for the most part of the game. Chitwan got other chances too as Bhuwan Basnet hit a shot in the first half, but Nuwakot keeper Priso saved it. 

Basnet gave Chitwan a 3-0 lead scoring in the 66th minute, while Bobo completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute to seal the game for the team. 

Aurel Inem hit a shot in the second half, but the ball grazed over the bar. Nuwakot did not have any notable chances in the game and was heavily dominated. Bobo was named the man of the match.

The winner of the tournament, featuring 12 teams, will earn Rs 600,000, while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 300,000.  

The departmental team Nepal Police Club will take on Chyasal Youth Club on Friday.
