KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Chinese investors in Nepal held their second annual congress in Kathmandu on Sunday.
"The second congress of the Chinese Enterprises Association of Nepal (CEAN) was successfully held at the Economic Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal on Sunday," a press note issued by the CEAN on Monday reads.
All the Chinese investors in Nepal attended the meeting which also saw participation of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu ChunTai, and Economic Counselor Peng Wei, Director of Consular Zhou Xiaomei.
On the occasion, CEAN President Yuan Zhixiong presented Enterprises Association Annual Report 2015/2016, whereas other members of the unit representatives reported about the Chinese enterprises' investment in Nepal, project contracting, communications, trade and business development situation, according to the press note.
The meeting also voted for a new governing units and member units. It also discussed on annual work plan of the association for Fiscal Year 2016/2017.
Director of Consular, Zhou Xiaomei, on the occasion, introduced consular services and agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CEAN to promote Chinese enterprises in Nepal.
Likewise, Economic Counselor Peng Wei expressed his appreciation to Chinese enterprises which actively participated in rescue works in last year's earthquake.
Speaking at the program, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chun Tai said that Chinese enterprises need to further expand their business scope in Nepal. Wu also hoped that the Chinese enterprises can make positive response to the state 'along the way' and 'interoperability' strategy, carry forward the 'seize the day' spirit, and further promote the development of Chinese enterprises in Nepal.
