KATHMANDU, March 24: Chinese Defense Minister General Chang Wanquan is holding a meeting with Chief of Army Staff of the Nepal Army Rajendra Chhetri at the army headquarters, Bhadrakali on Friday.
The meeting is focused on the agendas including Nepal-China joint military exercises, disaster management, inventory of equipments required for development works and honing the skills of Nepali peacekeepers to be deployed in the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations.
According to a source at the the NA, the meeting is likely to hold talks on increasing the number of Nepal Army trainees to China and will fix the date to begin the training.
Defense Minister Chang is also scheduled to meet Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi and President Bidhya Bhandari at 3 and 4 pm respectively.
Chang met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his counterpart Balkrishna Khand yesterday.
