During the program, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Thammaya Thapa noted that women of late have proved themselves through their accomplishments. But she stated that the fight for equality is still not over. "It is true that women are leading various sectors but there are a lot of women who still are the victims of Chhaupadi, dowry system and other domestic violence," said Minister Thapa, adding, "Speaking about women's rights on the women's day is not enough. This must be done all days of the year."
In honor of Nepali women, ambassador Hou dressed up in Nepali cultural dress and impressed the guests with her dancing skills. The event was organized in Hotel Yak and Yeti.
