KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Chinese ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong has welcomed the government's decision to hold local level election on May 14.
The Chinese envoy welcomed the decision during her meeting with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter's residence at Budhanilakantha on Tuesday.
According to a press statement issued by the NC, the envoy also expressed full support of China in the development of tourism, agriculture and electricity sectors in Nepal.
On the occasion, NC president Deuba said that the government is working to hold the local election on the date announced on Monday.
He also said that the parliament will pass the constitution amendment bill in order to address the grievances of various agitating parties.
