Issuing a press statement on Friday, the health ministry urged the hospitals to separate 20 percent of their beds for treatment of COVID-19 infected children.

“All kinds of arrangements made for COVID-19 treatment during the first and second waves are focused on the elderly and youths. Nepal is likely to witness the third and fourth waves of COVID-19 and a large number of children will be at high risk when that happens,” reads the press statement.

The government has also asked the hospitals to arrange medical oxygen.
