KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The price of chicken meat has increased to Rs 345 per kg due to the decline in production.
The Nepal Chicken Sellers Association has begun increasing the price, claiming that the production is not as per the demand in the market. According to the president of the association, Junga Bahadur BC, the price of living chicken has reached Rs 250 per kg. Earlier, this price had come down to Rs 230 per kg.
Chicken price rises to Rs 410 per kg
The consumption of meat increases during winter. However, the price is increasing every week due to the decreases in production, as stated by BC.
After the increase in the price of live chicken, meat has become expensive by Rs 30 per kg. According to the association, between 0.5 and 5.5 million kg of chicken meat is currently consumed daily across the country.
