KATHMANDU, June 7: Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Upreti on Friday released a memoir of late Hom Nath Subedi, a prominent social activist and educator from Lamjung.
Amid a function held at the Nepal Academy, Upreti unveiled the book at the presence of social activists, former bureaucrats, academicians, Subedi's family members and relatives. Speaking during the event, Upreti praised the remarkable contribution made by late Subedi in the field of education in Lamjung district during his lifetime.
On the occasion, London-based Nepali Professor Dr. Surya Prasad Subedi, who is also the youngest son of late Subedi, highlighted the contribution made by Hom Nath in the fields of culture, social reforms and education in Lamjung.
In the book, National poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire, former minister Khagendra Jung Gurung and late Subedi's family members have explained at length about Subedi's contribution. Subedi, who was better known as Pundit Hom Nath, had passed away in the 1990s in Kathmandu.
