KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has challenged former King Gyanendra Shah to form a new party if he wanted to become involved in politics and make it to power again.
Addressing the inaugural session of the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress (NC) in Kathmandu on Friday, Chairman Nepal also said that Nepali people will now not accept any move to take the country back to regression. He also said that monarchy had no future in the country.
Why is former King Gyanendra visiting Bhutan?
Chairman Nepal also urged political parties to work seriously for the cause of ordinary people in order to deliver on their promises. Arguing that politics in Nepal was largely detached from the concerns of ordinary people, Nepal said that getting power and position alone should not be the goal of politics.
On the occasion, Chairman Nepal also said that they should focus on mechanization and modernization of agriculture to give rise to entrepreneurship in the country.
