KATHMANDU, March 6: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya and the UN Women Country Representative Patricia Fernandez-Pacheco held a meeting at the Office of the Election Commission Nepal on Wednesday.
On the occasion, CEC Thapaliya talked about the various efforts made by UN Women in Nepal's development endeavors and informed about the collaboration with several government agencies in the gender inclusion sector.

He called for a partnership through UN Women for the evaluation of the gender and inclusive policy and the preparation of the fourth strategy paper as well as its implementation.
Stating that Nepal's success in gender and inclusion is exemplary, the UN Women Country Representative pointed out the need for making additional policy arrangements for increased qualitative participation of women in the political sector.
She gave assurances of UN Women's cooperation, to the extent possible, in the initiatives towards gender inclusion adopted by the Commission.
Election Commissioner Dr Janaki Kumari Tuladhar, Joint Secretary Ramesh Dhakal and Under Secretary Dr Thaneshwar Bhusal, among other officials, were present in the meeting, said Ramdatta Pandeya, the assistant spokesperson for the Election Commission.
