BAITADI, May 3: CCTV cameras have been installed along the Nepal-India border in Baitadi district. A total of 18 CCTV cameras have been installed in the bordering areas including Jhulaghat, Gadhi, Gothalapani, Sahilek and Dehimandau, said Raj Bahadur Bista, information officer for Dasharathchanda Municipality.


The project was funded by the municipality and coordinated by the district police office. The project aims to strengthen security in the border and the areas where there is thick movement of people. It also aims to stop social anomalies and would be expanded to other areas in the next year, said Mayor Pushkar Raj Joshi.

This will also help reduce criminal activities, said Inspector Lokraj Joshi.
