Case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane being registered today

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: The charge sheet against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who is accused of raping a minor, will be filed today in the Kathmandu District Court.

The Kathmandu District Attorney Office, after recording statements from Lamichhane, is registering the case in the court today. The police have been investigating Lamichhane, who has been in police custody since October 6, after extending the judicial custody three times.

Police have taken a statement from him. Police have prepared to register a case demanding a prison sentence of up to 12 years on the charge of rape. The hearing on the case will begin from Tuesday.
